New MB559 eSATA Bracket

A. HDD LED connector to chassis LED (Remove)
B. HDD LED connector to Motherboard (Remove)
C. Power connector
D. SATA Port
E. Power Port
F. eSATA port
G. Power cable

Right now, ICY DOCK is thinking to replace the current MB559 eSATA Bracket to the new version of eSATA Bracket.

What do you think about this new design bracket that can connect to MB559 without AC Power Adapter? Of course, we will also include the AC Power Adapter for portable usage.

Fantastic! Though not able to use it, if I were, it would be THE deciding factor! That is great.

I could of really used this type of bracket when I just recently bought my MB559. Freeing up an electrical socket would be nice since my wall is overloaded.

is the picture new bracket or old one? Do you mean that ICY dock will add a power adapter on the bracket and then it will take the internal power from the system's PSU. Mmh, this is somewhat a new idea. I like this as it will simplify the cable and power brick.

Every solution without a dedicated Power supply is a good on. I hate those myriads of non interchangable supplies. I do have 24 sockets availabe at my desk and not a singe one is empty!

Excellent idea! Having one less power adapter and cable on the back of my desk would be great. This could definitely be a huge selling point for yous!

I've been very interested in this product, but it's not sold in Australia.
will i have a problem with the power adapter if used in Australia? is the adapter multi-voltage?

I don't believe we sell in Australia. I am not sure if it will be some voltage problem if used in Australia. We build this targeting USA MKT only for now.

I just read a review of the MB559. I think you should expand your market to Australia also. If it was available here, I would have bought one after reading the review.

To answer this adapter Multi-voltage for the newly design eSATA Bracket. YES, this Bracket will be universal bracket (will support 110V ~ 240V) It will depend on the connection hole. You may need to purchase different very plug-in adapter for different country.

I'm looking for an external HDD case. When do you offer this new eSata bracket in Germany? So I could leave the USB cable and the power adapter e.g. at a friends place.
Offering the case with a second tray would be a great idea too.

it´s a great idea because now i can leave the power ac in the living room and in my room leave the power cable connecte to my pc.

only i will carry the MB559 from the living room to my room without cables of ac (kneel down, look behind tv, search the cable of ac because usually there are several.. without speak of weight..).

PLEASE ADD THIS POWER+ESATA BRACKET
IT IS REALLY A GREAT IDEA
I REALLY HATE EXTERNAL PÖWER SUPPLIES
I REALLY PREFER TO HAVE ALL CABLES COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE PC

AND FOR THE OTHERS THAT WONT LIKE IT
JUST KEEP THE EXTERNAL POWER STILL IN THE PACKAGE
SO BUYER MAY JUST CHOOSE HOW THEY WANT IT TO BE POWERED

EXCUSE ME BUT PLEASE HURRY UP
IM ALREADY IMPATIENT TO HAVE THIS POWER+ESATA BRACKET FOR THE ICY DOCK
THANKS

The bracket sounds great, is it now included with current models of MB559?

I also need an additional adapter cable, to connect an Icy Dock to one of the SATA ports on an Apple Mac Pro motherboard. Is any information available about which adapter to use?

This is a VERY GOOD idea. I have lots of extra Molex plugs on my power supply, and this would be a GREAT way to free up an outlet.

(We hate power converters!)

Please make it available separately, so I can get one to use one with my MB559.
